Spring Eternal: An Exploration of Redemption in the Music of Ernest Bloch

Friday, January 30th at 6 pm

Good Shepherd Episcopal Church of Tequesta, Sanctuary

VIP Ticket: $75

Artistic and Executive Director, Liana Branscome, presents a deeply personal, multidisciplinary pre-concert experience. In her words:

“The Baal Shem by Ernest Bloch has been a cornerstone of my spiritual experience for much of my career. Written in three movements, the work takes us on a journey of the rawness of human sorrow to the inevitability of redemption and the deep joy that comes after you have been forgiven. I will be pairing this great work with a discussion on the human condition as found in this music, a reading of my original poetry, and an expose of one of the most haunting tales every told: Sylvester and the Magic Pebble.”

One of the finest virtuoso pianists of our time, Philip Edward Fisher has soloed with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Copenhagen Philharmonic, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, and the symphonies of Albany, San Antonio, Toledo. His recordings have been heard on New York’s WQXR, Boston’s WGBH, BBC's Radio 3, Classic FM. He has also appeared on Ukrainian Television, the BBC, and MTV.
