Heifetz Ensemble in Residence, Spring 2022

Having grown up at the Heifetz International Institute, it was an honor to return as a member of the Heifetz Ensemble In Residence (HEIR). One of my favorite parts of the residency was the Bach Around the Clock performance which featured 12 hour long concerts (around the clock!) We also had the opportunity to visit and play music for patients of Augusta Health Center’s ICU ward. Playing for those who would not otherwise have the ability to hear live concerts is an important vision and initiative started by the Institute’s Founder and Artistic Director Emeritus, Daniel Heifetz. This has become an integral part of my own artistic mission. While in Staunton, I had the chance to play for a young man who was in a coma. The next day he woke up and asked to hear the violin again.
